2005 Gamble Family Vineyard Paramount Red WineOur premier Red Wine is a bold blend of fruit from several distinguished Napa Valley vineyards.  These sites have been chosen as they have historically produced exceptional grapes, all unique and expressive of their particular place within the valley.  At the core of the blend is Veeder Rock Cabernet Sauvignon from the volcanic soils of Mt. Veeder; Retreat House Merlot comes from the Mayacamas foothills behind St. Helena; Pepper Hill Cabernet Franc is from a cooler, hillside Carneros site; and Petit Verdot from the slopes of Mount St Helena.  Outstanding as these wines are alone, judiciously blended they come together to create a wine much greater than the sum of its parts. A great wine provides an intensity of experience and is something truly memorable.  Even years later, one can visualize, sense and remember the event and experience of meeting with a great wine.  Great wine is balanced, whole, one-of-a-kind.  Paramount is this kind of wine and is exemplary of Napa at its finest.

Tasting Notes:Rich nose of blackberry, cassis and chocolate with hints of eucalyptus, cola and anise. Mountain Cabernet and Carneros Franc pair to give notes of blackcurrant leaf, cool cassis, herbal blackberry and spiced currants. These dark fruit flavors are wrapped in soft cedar and tobacco. Layers of flavor reveal themselves as the wine opens up in the glass, subtle enough not to overwhelm the senses yet complex enough to dwell on and savor. Generous and flavorful now, the firm structure of this wine will allow it to evolve and be enjoyed for many years to come.
