JIM CLOSE Gamble Family Vineyards winemaker Jim Close received his degree inenology from the University of Brighton in the south of England. After graduating, he worked in the southern Languedoc region, then came to Napa Valley in late 2000. He spent four years in the fields and cellars of Elhers Grove and Cartlidge & Browne wineries. In 2004, he joined Gamble family as head winemaker.  Taking his cue from the Old World, Jim makes well-structured, balanced wines that express the true terroir of each of our Napa vineyards. |
