Appellation: Oakville, Napa Valley
Soils: The Eastern side of the vineyard starts with a sandy loam deposit from the Napa River, clay-loam and an under layer of volcanic rock as the vines get closer to the Knoll Top.
Climate: The Lincoln Ranch is a Valley within a Valley. The Cairo vineyard is tucked against a knoll top on the western side of the ranch, which gets ample sunshine throughout the day and windy afternoons.
Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (Clone 337, 039-16 Rootstock)
Comments: Planted in 2002. The fruit was sold until 2009, Cairo’s first vintage. Originally the vineyard was 5 acres and is undergoing a multiyear replant.
